Mr. Crispin Cole | September 22, 2005

Thank you, and congratulations for welcoming the spirit of SierraConnection.com. This cyber community will continue to be bigger and better. I would like to remind us once again that this site is all inclusive of political persuasion, tribe, color and creed. The bottom line is for us to have an effective platform to congregate, enhance each other, and contribute our ideas in the spirit of 'being happy for the other person when good things are happening to them'. In the discussion forum, we will maintain a posture of 'no one person is the repository of all the knowledge' so we will share our ideas with humility and grace.

I notice that we have been a bit shy at our keyboards with taking on issues on the discussion forums. Don’t be shy or afraid. Your ideas are unique and patently yours. Please share with others.

This evening I was conducting a research to find out what kinds of innovations and inventions Africa has come up with. I called it off because of paucity of material. I will assume that the only reason why I could not gather much was because Africans have not fully developed the discipline of writing versus oral communication. Please feel welcome to share your ideas and knowledge here. Join in breaking this cycle. Our children and succeeding generations need to acquire this transmittal.

Please feel free also to write feature articles on any 'noble' Sierra Leonean who has inspired others. It will be posted.

Don’t be a peeper, GET INVOLVED! GET INVOLVED! GET INVOLVED!

In less than three weeks of the launching of SierraConnection.com we are pleased to announce the following usage statistics. This is important for our advertisers to know that you are being tremendously exposed far and near.

The counter on the home page shows unique visitors. This is the number of different persons who visited the site over this period. It does not show how many times they came to the site each day and how many pages the visited over the period.

The following says it all:

Total Hits this month 430,057 (This shows total of all visits to all pages Since Sept. 01, 2005)

Total Visitors this month 16,494 (on a daily basis)
Average Hits Per Day 7,414 (This shows that daily, there are an average of 7414 total hits on the web site)

One more thing to remind you of is not to forget to sign our guest book. Tell us what you like and what you will like to see added or improved.

THE MORE WE ARE TOGETHER THE HAPPIER WE SHALL BE

Regards,

Crispin

Agreed you had nearly half a million visitors, but most of them will never come back, because your website hardly contains any information.

Thanks for your comment Jon. I think someone like you can make contributions to make this website a better "NEWS WORTHY" place to visit. The idea of creating a website for Sierra Leoneans and others affiliated with us, is a considerate effort of Mr.Cole. I love the part were he borrows the phrase, "The more we are together ..."you know the rest. Let's lend a hand and make this website a place where we can come to gather worthy information, listen to "Our" music and feel closer to our roots.

Re: How Are We All Doing? SierraConnection Takes off With a Bang
It is also true that most people visit the internet simply to absorb news items about the country. Most do not have the time or patient to interact with the news by writing an article.

Keep up the good work.
